Omtale

White-collar crime is financial crime committed by upper class members of society for personal or organizational gain. The aim of this book is to provide a large sample and thorough analysis of the characteristics of white-collar crime criminals. Gottschalk's research is based on a sample of 179 convicted white-collar criminals in Norway. The author emphasizes the need for internal and external actions in the detection, prevention and strategic combat of white-collar crime. Gottschalk presents a roadmap for combating financial crime, generally, and white-collar crime, specifically. The roadmap focuses on knowledge, since crime that is understood can be detected and prevented. The key principle is the creation of a knowledge base to comprehend guidelines, audit, control and ethics. Petter Gottschalk is Professor of Information Systems and Knowledge Management in the Department of Leadership and Organization at BI Norwegian Business School in Oslo, Norway. He has been the president of a number of companies, including ABB Datacables, Norwegian Computing Center and Norwegian Information Technology.
