Omtale

A run-down hotel in Hell's Kitchen. Addicts. Gangsters. Supermodels. Incest. Murder. Tragic romance. Women who used to be men. A cop with a dodgy ticker and a hero who's also a murderer. What else could go wrong - or right?

Murder-to-Wear is a pulp crime thriller that takes place mostly in New York's fashion industry. Although all the names, characters and incidents portrayed in this book are fictional, the author draws on his real-life experiences in New York's fashion and club scene as he reveals how the other side lives - the people on the "right" side of the tracks leading the wrong sort of lives.

Murder-to-Wear follows Blake Webster's journey from supermodel to super-junkie, from neglected child to murderer. Lt. Warren, a cop seeking to redeem his tarnished reputation with a newsworthy case, is drawn into the action after a model from the same agency as Blake dies in suspicious circumstances. Then, Blake's father, a millionaire farmer, is found dead.

Accused of the murders, Blake flees to the Canary Islands where he falls in love with Candy - a blonde with a mysterious past and an open bottle of Cava. Lt. Warren follows.

A drug deal gone wrong results in a classic Tarantino style "Mexican stand-off," involving Blake, Lieutenant Warren and Candy's drug-dealing boss, Ginger - an AK47-wielding transvestite in a red sequinned dress who supplies dope to the clubs in the Yumbo Center.

Who survives? And what happens afterwards? There are so many twists and turns to this story that it's not until you get to the final page that all is revealed. Fashion has never been deadlier.
