This anthology is the result of a session at the 2005 European Archaeological Association meeting in Cork, Ireland. The session was named "Liminal landscapes - beyond the concepts of 'marginality' and 'periphery'" and gathered 11 speakers and an audience of about 100 for fruitful discussions of different aspects of the theme "Liminal landscapes". Some of the papers from this session, and also a couple of papers that has been added afterwards, are printed in this volume.
