Minor Russian noble Andreas Bekenbaum has been richly rewarded by both the Russian and British empires for a job well done. But perhaps his biggest achievement is negotiating a land grant from the Canadian government in exchange for establishing a militia and police force in a tiny town at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains.
